Within each volume, the serial LUBOK presents works of about ten artists who deal with the technique of linocut. Even though the format, the technique, and the clear black and white of the linocut are set in advance for the artists – just the topic is freely selectable – each book features a variety of creative styles and approaches.
Each graphic is printed from the original cut. You will not find a reproduction within the Lubok-books: Each page is genuine!

For the purpose of the serial LUBOK SPEZIAL, one single artist applies to the technique of linocut in order to create a monographic book. Next to using linocut, the artist experimentalises with further techniques and formats such as woodcut.
Similarly to the serial LUBOK, the graphics are printed from the original cuts. You will not find a reproduction within the LUBOK-books: Each page is genuine!

Despite its unique original graphic picture books, LUBOK publishes "ordinary" art books since May 2009. "Ordinary" here means that those books are not necessarily printed originally graphically, or that they differ from the style of the serials LUBOK or LUBOK SPEZIAL.
Expanding the LUBOK-program only succeeded because of cooperating with friends, artists, and galleries. Thanks to them networking with LUBOK and being curious about printing, the LUBOK-books came to exist. The "Other Books" resemble a further component of this vivid network as well as a diversification of artistic expressions.

In 2007 the painter Christoph Ruckhäberle and the graphic artist Thomas Siemon published LUBOK 1, which is already out of stock. Since then new books have been released continuously. The publishers provide access to usually expensive original graphics for everyone who is interested through editing the LUBOK-books in a high number and in an inexpensive layout.
The original graphics are printed from the original cuts on a "Präsident"-cylinder printing press of the year 1958. The Lubok Verlag is based at the Baumwollspinnerei Leipzig, Germany.
